Statutory accident insurance – Why separate from payroll
Statutory accident insurance protects employees in the event of accidents at work, commuting accidents, and occupational illnesses.
It is financed exclusively by the employer and is not included in the monthly payroll – for good reason: there is no employee contribution, no salary deduction field, and a separate reporting procedure via the employers’ liability insurance association.
The most important information at a glance
No wage deduction
The contributions are paid solely by the employer – therefore, there is no item on the pay slip.
Own reporting procedure
The notification is sent directly to the employers' liability insurance association using the UV notification procedure („Lohnnachweis Digital“).
Separate from payroll
Not part of the monthly billing cycle, but an annual contribution based on the total remuneration.
